Learn how to fix the broken Moon Lantern in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the latest installment of the famous Baldur’s Gate series by renowned developer Larian Studios. The game has been able to live up to its hype until now, as it introduced a lot of unique and immersive features for the players to experience throughout the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 also requires the players to travel through difficult terrain to complete the quests, and they certainly would need some help for it.

In Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, players will reach the Shadow Cursed Lands. This area is very dark due to the curse of the shadows, and thus players need to carry some torch or light source with them to continue their quests with ease. To solve this problem, a moon lantern would be the most useful. However, getting a Moon Lantern that works can be a challenging task. In this guide, we will show you how to fix a broken Moon Lantern in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Fix Broken Moon Lantern in BG3

By progressing through the storyline, you will soon find out that a Moon Lantern cannot be fixed, unfortunately. However, you can find a working Moon Lantern by visiting Balthazar’s Room in Moonrise Tower. You will reach this location at some point if you keep following the game’s storyline.

After reaching the General’s throne in the Moonrise Tower, take the stairs to your right. It will take you to a locked room, which is Balthazar’s study room. As the door cannot be unlocked, you will have to lockpick it and enter the room.

After entering the room, explore around and you will come across a Moon Lantern. However, inside the Moon Lantern, you will find a Pixie named Dolly Dolly Dolly asking for your help. At this stage, you will learn that Moon Lanterns are actually powered by the lights of the Pixies trapped inside them.

Now, you will have two options in your hands. Either you can keep the Pixie trapped inside the Moon Lantern or let her go free. Both choices will be okay and make no difference in your story. If you choose to keep Dolly Dolly Dolly trapped inside the Moon Lantern, she will still provide you with light to travel through the Shadow Cursed Lands.

However, if this choice seems inhumane to you, you can always choose to let the poor creature go free. This will also not be a loss for you, as the Pixie will reward you with an item called Filigreed Feywild Bell as a token of appreciation. Anytime you need some light in the cursed land, you can call Dolly Dolly Dolly to guide you with her lights by ringing the bell.
