(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Kings of Leon, the southern-garage-rockers from Nashville, have been named as U2’s opening act for their spring North American tour. Playing 13 dates across the continent, beginning on March 28 at San Diego’s Sports Arena, the group will be moving from their standard 600-seat club venues from their own tour to 14,000 seat arenas with U2.
The band met U2 after both playing on a British television show. Bono took a liking to the group, and sent an offer over to their manager about a month later.
Kings of Leon will be heading to Japan for 3 shows starting February 3, then returning to the states to kick off their own tour of bars and clubs on February 17. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
