The Resident Evil 4 Remake didn’t ship with the mercenaries mode. But now it has been added with the new ver 1.04 update of the game.

All Mercenaries Mode Rewards in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Most, if not all, of the Mercenaries mode reward has to do with the mode itself. This mode also grades your score as you play the game. And then unlock certain levels and characters based on that. Let us go through each reward and break down how you can get them.

As for the weapon, the Hand Cannon can be unlocked without playing this game mode. But you will have to complete the Professional Difficulty main story to do it. So, unlocking the weapon through Merceranies mode is a lot easier.
